Although small, this space possess a calm and classy aura, which undoubtedly comes from its mix of modern and retro styling. The sheer curtains rest elegantly on the wooden floor and match the lightweight fabric lining of the sofa and pillows – totally vintage and refined.

A major pillar of shabby-chic style, as we all know, is the effect of pickled wood furniture, which in this specific project, turns out to be the real protagonist of the hall. The mix between the furniture and wrought iron lighting harps on modern and minimalist taste that makes a very pleasant visual impact.

Wonders of the kitchen

The kitchen is one of the main meeting places of the house and, as such, cannot lack a cosy atmosphere. In this kitchen everything either has been customised, or looks as though it has.  This room's interpretation of shabby chic comes out in the emerald and pastel shades of green and the white and wicker detailing, making this a tuly attractive domestic hub .

Between country and shabby

The renovation done of this Veneto farmhouse has brought in light, enhancing it, so that the whole house's nature is somewhere between country and shabby. The kitchen cabinetry is in grey oak with a pickled finish, and married perfectly with the original beams of the house, creating a contrast infused with charm and authenticity.

Shabby wardrobe

The shabby – chic style here comes from the pure white and wood tones, plus a touch of sage green from the large wardrobe creates a look that absolutely oozes Provencal style. The the four-poster bed, doors, walls and floors have all been sanded and pickled to get a soft vintage effect.

The flow of shabby-chic

A small house near the historic center of Bologna, called Little Cottage, is the frame of the immediate environment around the shabby – chic decor. The house of 50 square meters dates back to the 20's and has a distribution of optimised and functional spaces. A large skylight illuminates the living area, which is helped out by the finishes in light colour, such as the white oak floor. A plus of the residence is also the paint brush painting effect, conveying a friendly artisan touch, worthy of the best shabby-chic spaces .

Shabby and conceptual

The shabby-chic variation leads, in this project, to an eclectic and vintage-inspired room. The ocher and amber touches are reminiscent in some ways of the furniture 70 years ago, rediscovering simple yet classic decor using mainly wood and pastel shades. The parallel track undertaken by the interior of this house strikes the eye and is intriguing and inspirational.

Garden elegance

Shabby-chic works just as well in the garden. This particular example is the most beautiful shabby interior of the realm, indeed. The set of table and chairs, simple in its entirety, here is the ideal which must enrich and complete an outdoor terrace surrounded by greenery, just in terms of its deco character. And no way we can get rid of the gorgeous flower centrepiece.
