This remarkable home – or rather, mansion – was the design genius of Guedes Cruz Architects from Brazil. It is a modernist masterpiece! Pre-cast concrete, glass, and light are the main ingredients.

Throw a little steel in there, a green wall, and the most remarkable of pools you ever did see – and you have yourself a home that seems like it stepped out of Bond movie film set!

Don't believe us? Come for a tour and you can see it for yourself…

Concrete and glass

Set against the natural landscape, the cast concrete and frameless glass make a striking contrast! It is a little brutal in appearance, but elegantly so.

Clean lines abound; the design is rationalised; minimalism is the name of the game.

The pool!

The pool, undoubtedly, is the star of the show. All cheesy metaphors aside, it really is quite something. And that's just the pool on the ground. It had to go and outdo itself with a pool floating above the pool!

With a glass base, it creates a surreal atmosphere for those swimming below and those swimming above.

Walkways

As impressive as that pool is, it's not the only wow-moment in the design. Take this wonderful walkway as an example; traversing the courtyard, it connects the upper levels of the home.

Breathtaking compositions

This is possibly one of the most striking images captured of the design.

Looking out from the top of the spiral stair, that is formed from steel and timber, green walls flank either side and the blue azure of the water hovers above. Wow! Words can hardly do it justice.

The terrace

Perched on the upper-level terrace, we have a view down to the lush courtyard below and into some of the interior spaces of the home. A pergola structure overhead provides an element of shade and creates a strong visual presence.

The transition between the interior of the home and the terrace is almost seamless: The large frameless glass slider is recessed. It almost disappears from sight.

Swooping stair in the green

Another look at that green wall, this time from the ground level, is just as great as the first! The ground and the green wall appear as one continuous lush strip.

Cutting through the beautiful nature, a swooping organic staircase entices residents to the upper level.

The kitchen

The kitchen is minimal and sharp. White, white, white – and more white! Oh, and a touch of stainless steel too! The space is perfectly framed by the glass opening. For more kitchen ideas, take a look here!

That pool…

But, before we close the book on this impressive home, let's take one more look at that pool! Oh to be there now!
