Today we’ll be taking a virtual tour of a delightful Polish home by architects Design Office MTM Style.
The home incorporates timeless elements into its design, while simultaneously possessing a little more flair than one might expect from a family home.
With the bedrooms in the attic and a utility room in the basement, every inch of space within the home is used. Let’s take a look…
Viewing this picturesque family home from the front, it becomes apparent how much green space there is around the property. The garden extends all the way around the house, so there’s plenty of space for children to play safely.
Looking at the structure itself, the striking dormer window in the centre of the pitched roof catches the eye, and adds character to the building.
The ground floor of the home is entirely open-plan, and the various areas of the dwelling flow together to create one, unified living space.
Here in the living room area we find a comfortable corner sofa and enough seating for the four or five family members that the home is designed for. The addition of the fireplace incorporates a more homely feel into the modern design.
Moving on to the dining area we find that the dining table is aptly placed at the centre of the home between the living room and the kitchen.
From this perspective, we can appreciate how much natural light floods into the ground floor of the home, thanks to the glass patio doors and large windows in front of the dining table.
Turning to face the other side of the room, we can see the kitchen area tucked away in the far corner. The simple design utilises L-shaped countertops to line one side of the room, meaning plenty of room in a kitchen that doesn’t intrude into the rest of the open-plan space.
There’s plenty of storage space in the cupboards under the counters, and the large window above the sink ensures plenty of natural light.
One of the home’s most appealing aspects is the abundance of outdoor space surrounding it. Viewing the property from the exterior, we can appreciate the size of the lawn. The patio doors adjacent to the living room open out onto a beautiful wooden porch, the perfect place to relax and soak up a little sun during the summer months.
